BEGINNING CALLIGRAPHY

These 2.5 hour workshops provide an introduction to the art and technique of
calligraphy and brush lettering ... the perfect way to dress up your

VALENTINE'S WITH A TWIST

Instructor: Barbara Harris
This 2.5 hour workshop, taught by professional
Calligrapher and Artist Barbara Harris, will focus
on creating Valentine's cards and wrapping paper
with the use of innovative materials (creating stamps,
gilding, unusual paper surfaces, inks, gouache,
cut-outs, along with layout and formatting
of designs).

Create Valentines and fun wrapping paper with metallic leafing,
block prints and innovative materials.
DéCOUPAGE ON GLASS
$65 materials included

Instructor: Ann Gerard
Venetian craftsmen used découpage as a way of imitating expensive inlay,
marquetry and Chinese lacquer work and, at the height of its popularity, it
spread to France where it was given its name. Découpage is experiencing a
revival and Dauphine Press has added a new twist to an old craft. Enjoy
this workshop where you will learn valuable techniques and create a
one-of-a-kind découpage
home accent.

Receive an introduction to the history and beauty of typography with a
project that brings letter forms and vintage motifs to life. Learn the
basics of letterpress printing while creating note cards
and Valentine's on our vintage Vandercook press.

LETTERPRESS I - FAUX POSTAGE STAMPS
$85 materials included

Instructor: Kim Hillman or Nathan Rose
Using our vintage Vandercook press, students will learn the basics of
letterpress printing with a brief history of the press, inking and plate
placement. Print a series of holiday faux postage stamps on dry-gummed
adhesive backed paper. Our vintage pin-hole perforator provides the
finishing touch!

COLLAGE ON CANVAS TECHNIQUES
$75 materials included

Instructor: Kim Hillman
Students will receive an introduction to the world of collage with a brief
discussion of adhesives, color composition, balance and image transfer
techniques. Drawing from a selection of provided imagery and materials, each
student will complete a collaged canvas. The class on March 13 will
also introduce some beginning bookbinding techniques so that your collage
will become the cover of a hand-made journal.

RIBBON FLOWERS

Instructor: Anna Bies
Anna Bies, a talented fashion accessory and costume designer, will instruct
you in the art and techniques needed to create an assortment of elegant and
colorful ribbon flowers. Create roses, pansies, daffodils and more, for use
as brooches or to embellish a handbag or belt. Each workshop will focus on
new tips, techniques and a unique project ...treat yourself to both dates!

Registration & Refund Policy
Registration can be made by phone or in person at our
Dauphine Press stationery store located at 119 Kentucky
Street in historic downtown Petaluma. Phone 707.775.4200
HOURS: Monday through Saturday, 10:00am - 6:00pm and Sunday from 11:00 - 5:00pm.
PARKING: Free 10 hour parking is available in the Keller Street garage, 1 block west of Kentucky Street.
REGISTRATION: We encourage you to register early as workshops are limited to 8 or fewer students and fill up quickly. Registration is only confirmed with receipt of payment in full.
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY: Cancellations made at least 14 days in advance of scheduled workshop will be refunded in full unless student chooses to transfer
to another date, apply the fee toward a different class, or retain store credit. If a cancellation is made after 14 days prior to workshop, there is no refund or credit of fees. If less then 4 people enroll in a workshop, Dauphine Press reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule the workshop. If for any reason Dauphine Press needs to cancel a class, students will be notified and refunded the full class fee. Students may also choose to retain a store credit or apply the fees toward a different workshop, provided space is available. If a student does not show up for a scheduled workshop, their fees will be forfeited and no store credit will be given. These cancellation policies ensure that our instructors are compensated for their investment in materials and class preparation.
