With Pantone’s recent announcement of Color of the Year for 2015, we thought one of our Get the Look posts would give our design team an opportunity to express their admiration for marsala! The details below explore our current favorite way to incorporate this strong color into you wedding stationery.
Rich color and elegant foil are the standout elements in this Gucci ad. Imagine your wedding invitation printed in our deep rouge ink on an ecru micah duplexed paper stock. The highlight of the suite are the mixed metallics with the gold edge painting on the thick shimmering card. Embellished with a luxurious bordeaux double-faced satin, this suite has the power to make a bold, strong statement.

In our regular Get the Look series from the Dauphine Press design department, we share some of our favorite hot new style finds and make suggestions for how you can translate the same look into your wedding stationery using the many custom elements available to you in our design library. Keep in mind that ALL of our stationery suites receive a designer’s touch and every one of our designs is customizable. There is something about this photograph of Joseph Gordon-Levitt for Details magazine that really has us inspired. We love the wonderfully natural color palette, the layers of texture and the slick car. It’s the perfect inspiration for our gentleman’s edition of our Get the Look series.

The palette we’re dreaming up would include espresso letterpress ink printed on a thick duplexed card of London fog gray. For the embellishments, we love the addition of a gold painted edge and smart indigo envelope liner. Apply this recipe to any of our existing designs to create a dashing design for any event.
This striking photograph of Kat Dennings has the perfect blend of hard and soft components. Deep, rich colors are offset by her soft makeup and coloring, while the backdrop evokes a vintage feeling. All of these elements are the perfect foundation for fall wedding inspiration.

To capture this juxtaposition, we would love to see one of our more feminine designs like Kentfield or Kasbah customized in this darker color palette. We’re dreaming of olive green letterpress ink paired with gold foil stamping with a French roast colored backer card and antique gold envelope liner. We have created a fair amount of note cards, birthday and bar mitzvah invitations, suited for the most dapper of men and we wanted to share some of that inspiration with you. This photograph of Chris Pine for C for Men is a great example of what inspires us. The steely color palette, artisan printing technique and luxe embellishments would leave an impression that no one would forget.

With a black linen backer card framing the invitation and wrapped in a turtle dove gray pocket folder, this palette could transform any design into a well suited stationery suite.
This stunning photograph of Amy Adams was taken by Norman Jean Roy for Allure magazine. Many details of this image would translate well to stationery – everything from her beautiful lace dress to the deep red roses.
