Get the Look – Retro Red

As big fans of the television show Mad Men, we thought we could use a little off-season fix this week. The show inspires us on many levels but this photo shoot by Annie Leibowitz took the drama of the characters to a new level.  For a behind the scenes peek at the shoot, click here.

We love the bright cherry red and pops of metallic in this shot and definitely see this translating to a memorable invitation suite.

Below are suggestions from our designers for how to “get the look” using the many embellishments we have available in our Custom Wedding Portfolio. Enjoy!

Get The Look – Sweet Treat

In our “Get the Look” series from the Dauphine Press design department, we share some of our favorite hot new style finds and make suggestions for how you can “get the look” using the many custom elements available to you in our design library. Keep in mind that ALL of our stationery suites receive a designer’s touch and every one of our designs is customizable, so pairing the color palette below with any of our motifs or fonts allow us to create a stationery suite that is unique to you.

We are constantly pulling inspiration from fashion and interior design magazines, blogs and the world around us and we love nothing more than to daydream about how to translate a specific style into a beautifully printed piece of stationery.

The subject of today’s post is a fresh and pretty ad for the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 collection. This delicious image incorporates soft pastels and sweet details that inspired our designers to explore our design library and pull swatches and elements that would recreate this look in a sweet stationery wardrobe. They’re sharing their findings with you here. Enjoy!

This quote from the company says it all: “The spirit of our Spring/Summer 2012 collection is reflected beautifully in this new ad campaign,” says Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Marc Jacobs. “All the tone and texture of the collection – the lightness, the prettiness, the broderie anglaise, the millefueille layers of organza – are recreated in these wonderful images by Steven Meisel. It is all very soft and very sweet, yet at the same time very bold and very graphic.”
