Designer’s Desktop {Solage Letterpress Wedding Invitation}

In our Custom Wedding Portfolio II, we feature stand-out save the date cards at the start of the album. We are often asked what the corresponding invitation and response card would look like. Our Designer’s Desktop series is the perfect place to share these details with you!

One of those save the date cards is our Solage save the date, which incorporates a two-layer antique engraving frame and a space for your engagement photo. For the invitation, we use the same two-layer frame and instead of your engagement photo taking center stage, we replace it with your invitation wording. We kept the horizontal layout, which allows for the couples’ names to fall on the same line. The response card follows suit with a similar layout, but with a small shift in the frame detail to keep things interesting.

We love the way the vintage feel of the frame pairs with the traditional wedding invitation fonts and layout within it. The delicate balance not only makes a statement to your guests, but it also beautifully showcases the letterpress printing.

Client Customization – Letterpress + Calligraphy

We’re sharing this custom design with you today to remind you of how well letterpress printing pairs with hand calligraphy. Not only do they both shout “wedding,” but when you work with us or one of our retailers and use the design process outlined in our Custom Wedding Portfolio II, we can turn hand calligraphy into a letterpress plate and print it on your wedding invitation suite!

If you plan to use a calligrapher for addressing your invitations, why not also have them write your names for your wedding invitation? It’s like creating a custom font! Take a peek at how this couple incorporated calligraphy into their design.

Designer’s Desktop {Monterey Baby Announcement}

We designed our Custom Wedding Portfolio II so that brides and grooms could find a ton of great inspiration for their wedding stationery and also easily bring to life the wedding invitation design they had been dreaming up. A bonus to creating a process so flexible and full of options was that the design elements could easily translate to special events beyond weddings.

Today in our Designer’s Desktop series we share a sweet baby announcement with you that was inspired by our Monterey wedding invitation suite.

The signature sunburst from the Monterey wedding invitation is placed at the top of this announcement and within it is the first initial of this sweet baby girl. Beneath the sunburst is her birth name in a graceful script. This letterpress printed design includes two playful ink colors – lemon and rose.

Client Customization – Classic Letterpress Wedding Invitation

This letterpress wedding invitation design is one we hold close to our hearts {and our history}. At the start of Dauphine Press, one of our favorite layouts was a classic combination of an all-caps serif font paired with a restrained script in a contrasting color. Topping that layout was a personal touch – the lighthouse this couple used – to personalize the design for the couple and their wedding location. We love this tried-and-true combination that feels fresh and traditional at the same time. Easily customized with your own motif or monogram at the top of the card, we are truly font of this evergreen formula.

Do you love this classic look as much as we do? What would you choose for the personalized motifs? Or do you prefer a classic monogram? How about the color palette? Designer’s Desktop {Kentfield Rehearsal Dinner Insert}

We began our Designer Desktop series to share hidden gems that will inspire you to create a unique design for your wedding invitation suite. These are designs we love, but have not had the opportunity to print quite yet.

One of these treasures is our Kentfield rehearsal dinner invitation. This petite card was designed as an accessory card to the main invitation. Without a separate mailing envelope, a rehearsal dinner invitation included with the wedding invitation can be any size you wish.

We all know how special the group who attends your rehearsal and rehearsal dinner is, so why not create an invitation for that event that feels just as special? This two color design includes the all-over floral pattern from our Kentfield invitation on this small square card with a pretty layout displaying multiple fonts that make it memorable.

Can we help you create a unique design for the people closest to you; a design for showing that close group of friends and family how much you cherish them and appreciate them standing by your side? Contact us or one of our retailers and we will help you define every detail of your wedding stationery suite.
