As we mentioned yesterday, we are all buzzing about the release of The Great Gatsby movie this weekend. Since it’s on our minds, we wanted to share with you this art deco-inspired interior by Kelly Wearstler. We just love her design, which seamlessly blends clean lines with a sophisticated palette of dark brown and golds. And the doors…they absolutely make this space spectacular with their geometric pattern and gold touches!
Hope you have an inspiring weekend!
We have been anxiously awaiting the release of The Great Gatsby movie for some time now and we are thrilled that the date has finally arrived! We are looking forward to enjoying all of the visual goodness the movie promises to showcase. In the meantime, we found even more of the luxury of the 1920s displayed in a recent Vogue cover shoot. Playing Daisy Buchanan in the movie, Carey Mulligan is all about that vintage glamour feel in this fresh color palette from the shoot.
To capture the art deco feel, our team is envisioning our opaque, caramel letterpress ink paired with metallic copper foil on a thick duplexed card in the perfect neutral shade of cameo. With decorative accents like the ironwork-inspired pattern and a pop of raspberry double-faced satin ribbon, the look is complete!

When you visit your local Dauphine Press retailer through the end of June, don’t forget to mention our Spring Promotion to take advantage of one of four offers available.
In our Northern California office we don’t have snowy white winters, but our design team was inspired by “snow and gold” when creating our 2011-2012 holiday card. Starting with the “snow and gold” inspiration, we knew that above all, we wanted to incorporate brilliant gold foil and use our bright white letterpress stock.

Staying true to our Dauphine Press aesthetic we wanted the card to have a vintage feel, which was achieved by creating a border inspired by gold details in art deco architecture and jewelry. The subtle texture of the snow-like letterpress blind hit in the fluffy cotton paper is perfectly paired with the warm gold foil border and sentiment. The “warm wishes” greeting was by the amazing calligrapher Georgia Deaver in a script inspired by vintage packaging, resulting in a slightly traditional feel perfect for the holidays (or any wedding!). The calligraphy and gold foil are carried onto the light grey envelope completing the perfect clean and fresh wintery palette.
