A Blog by Dauphine Press

Dauphine Press on Bravo TV!

We have a slightly different post for you today. This one is brought to you by Team Dauphine Press, rather than Abbey herself. You see, our Abbey was the recipient of the ultimate surprise party and part of the My Fab 40th series on Bravo TV and well, we pretty much had to take over the blog to share this with you. Abbey loves what she does, as owner of Dauphine Press, and she’s happy to talk about design and stationery all day long … but this is different.

Abbey was more than happy to work with her friend Gina’s husband to plan a surprise party for Gina – but there was a twist to the plans and the party was for Abbey too. Abbey gladly helped with the planning and loved designing the invitations {more on those in a second!} but when you ask Abbey about that moment when she realized this party was a surprise for her too, she clams up.

Abbey is the real deal. She works hard, creates amazingly gorgeous designs, she’s a great boss, wonderful friend and tons of fun. We know a lot of our blog readers are current retailers and couples who only get to see the business part of Abbey. We think you will love getting to know all of Abbey {though she’s worried about what editing can do to a person’s real personality, but in her case we’re pretty sure it’s impossible to make her look bad} and we’re confident that in the end you will love her as much as we do. So, we twisted her arm and wrote this post this week.

The My Fab 40th episode with Abbey and her friend Gina airs tonight at 10pm EST on Bravo TV. We hope you will join in the fun and watch along with us! If you’re curious, here’s a sneak peek.

Now, on to the invitations! These were personal, a gift from Abbey to her good friend {not knowing they were for her too!} so she made sure that every detail was perfect. The party was Great Gatsby themed so the invitations were opulent and detailed. The main invitation card was foil stamped in Rose Gold on the front with a striking type treatment and the back was foil stamped with a custom art deco pattern in Rose Gold and Black {New Pattern-156 in the Design Library}. It was also duplexed with Savoy Brilliant White on the face and a shimmery Coral stock on the back and then edge painted in black. The invitation was mailed in a black envelope with a shimmery Coral envelope liner and printed in more Rose Gold foil for the return address.

If you would like to see a sample of the invitation in person, contact one of our retailers and request a copy. Retailers, that goes for you too! If you would like a copy, just send us a quick email or give us a call.

OK, we will let Abbey get back to her regular blog plans. It has been fun sharing this with you and we hope you enjoy the show!

Happy Holidays from Dauphine Press

We love the holidays for all of their visual beauty — the sights and sounds of the season, the decorative gift wrapping, all of the event planning with family and friends gathering around a perfectly set table! But, most of all, we love the way the holidays bring on a time when everyone is reflecting on the year past, dreaming about a bright future and wishing all of their family and friends the very best!

All of us at Dauphine Press are very excited for what 2014 will bring … and especially what Dauphine Press will bring to you! We couldn’t do it without all of our amazing retailers and the beautiful couples we have the pleasure of working with every day. Thank you so much for sharing in this journey with us!

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Client Customization – A Peachy Take on Marinwood

I can’t tell you how often I hear people in our industry talk about how hard it is to design their own stationery! When you are exposed to such gorgeous design and printing every single day, I am the first to admit that it can be a painfully slow process when it comes time to narrow down all of the amazing choices into a single card for yourself. However, this time around, when it came time to design {another!} baby announcement, it was much less daunting!

With the help of Dauphine Press designers Matt and Heather and my client services sidekick Tracy, I had the perfect team to help me pull this design together. Focusing on every detail from the color palette to the perfectly petite pattern behind the photograph and the ideal art for the first panel to the most fabulous fonts for my baby girl’s name, it came together in no time. I absolutely love the end result and I’m especially pleased with the way it complements big sister’s announcement that we created two years ago.

Right from the start, I knew that I wanted to go with the same trifold format as Chelsea’s announcement {baby number one}, since that worked so well the first time around. This format has proven itself to be a great fit for everything from a big announcement to a wedding details card packed with travel information. And, let’s not forget what a precious keepsake it makes with it’s small size and luxe print techniques.

Our Marinwood design has seen many variations since it was released two years ago – check out a few of our favorites here and here. Are you looking for the perfect announcement or save the date? Visit one of our exclusive retailers and share with them all the ways you would customize your very own trifold.
