Designer’s Desktop {Save the Date Photo Card}

Our design team is always creating new variations of the designs displayed in our wedding album. We wanted to share some of our favorite versions that we have created over the years with the hopes that they will inspire you when designing your wedding stationery!

Two of our most popular Save the Date designs are the Marinwood and Auburn styles. The custom design below, combines these two cards into one, brand new design. Using the trifold format from Marinwood, this design blends a front panel announcing the big day, a middle panel featuring a charming engagement photo and a third panel displaying essential details for guests. Inspired by the vintage letterpress wood type look of our Auburn suite, this save the date makes a statement with bold photography in a soothing subtle color palette.

Get The Look – Pantone 2016 Color of the Year

GTL-Pantone-1GTL-Pantone-2GTL-Pantone-3We wait patiently each December for Pantone’s Color of the Year announcement. Were you as thrilled as we were to see two (!) colors chosen for 2016? We love that Pantone changed the game a little this year. Their choice of two colors fed our love of choosing color palettes. When designing wedding invitations, one of our favorite steps is finding the perfect color combination and Pantone has done exactly that with their choice of Rose Quartz and Serenity.

We were inspired to use these two colors on an invitation, of course! We chose our Calistoga wedding invitation suite and transformed it into a look that creates a calming and beautiful overall feel with a balance of warm and cool tones. What better expression of a marital union – balanced, calm, beautiful?

In the two versions above, we are showing two ways to create this look. We have our existing color palette of letterpress inks and we also offer custom ink colors. There is a little bit of an up-charge for custom ink colors, so you can choose the best option for your budget. For the version using our existing color palette, we are suggesting a combination of our Rose and French Blue letterpress inks. The copy is split evenly between these two colors and then we added a splash of the Rose on the geometric pattern covering the back of the invitation and framed it all in a French Blue painted edge! For the custom version, we’re suggesting pastel PMS 9281 for Rose and PMS 7451 for Serenity.

Are you thinking of using the Pantone Color of the Year for the Wedding of the Year (yours!)? If you would like to see us transform your favorite design with this color palette, contact us or one of our retailers to start the design process.

Real Dauphine Press Wedding – Carie Ann & Bryan’s Romantic Wedding Day

We’re about to share a bundle of gorgeous wedding photos with you, but the one thing that stands out the most to us? The smiles! That is really what the day is all about! So, beyond the wedding eye candy, we love seeing the pure joy on the faces of each bride and groom we are lucky to create wedding invitations for!

The bride, Carie Ann, described her wedding to her groom, Bryan, as featuring a “color palette of blue, peach and white, with an emphasis on classic, traditional romance, with a mix of some southern flair.” Working alongside some amazing wedding vendors, this couple certainly accomplished that vision! Take a look:

For the wedding invitation, the couple worked with Dauphine Press Exclusive Retailer The Pleasure of Your Company and selected our Occidental letterpress suite. Our Occidental wedding invitation is designed with a subtle pattern in the background printed in our parchment letterpress ink. Atop this lace-like pattern, is a delicate script font printed in twilight blue ink. These two main elements combine to create an updated classic featuring a traditional monogram.

As a very special touch, make sure you don’t miss all of the places this couple incorporated the monogram from their wedding invitation. What an elegant way to make the day unique and memorable!

It’s no surprise that Carie Ann and Bryan’s wedding was featured on the Baltimore Bride blog. Take a peek at their post as they have a ton of fun details about this gorgeous day.

Client Customization – Letterpress Magnolia Invitation

Sometimes it’s the smallest touches that have the biggest impact. We love the large magnolia floral in opposing corners in our barely-there varnish letterpress ink on this wedding invitation. But, it’s the color selected for the invitation wording that made us take a second glance. With an overall botanical theme, the deep garden green is a stellar choice. It is that “traditional with a twist” detail that we’re often talking about.
