Client Customization – Letterpress Beach Wedding Invitation

This beach wedding invitation makes a bold statement with a large motif printed behind classic fonts. The graphics are large, but do not take over the entire suite since they are printed in our soft powder blue letterpress ink. Paired with our taupe letterpress ink for the type, we think this softer version of traditional black or silver really adds to the beachy vibe of this suite.

Sent to us by our exclusive retailer Lettres, this design is one that is easily customized. If you’re having a garden wedding or getting married under an oak tree, we can easily swap out the beach motifs for florals or a gorgeous oak and acorn. We would love to work with you, so contact us, to find your signature style.

Client Customization – Traditional With A Pop Of Color

As graphic designers we are often inspired by all creative avenues. We love when print design crosses paths with fashion or home decor. When our exclusive retailer Only The Best approached us with this design, we could not wait to see it in print. The overall textile-like pattern {printed in our varnish ink under charcoal letterpress} added to the accessory card of our Carneros invitation design adds even more visual interest to the overall design and really highlights the letterpress printing.

Framing the cards in a raspberry edge painting adds a delightful pop of color that we also love seeing in fashion and home decor. Do you have a favorite fashion or home decor statement you love to make? If so, tell us about it! We love the challenge of incorporating the personal style of all of our couples into their custom design.

Client Customization – Letterpress + Foil Starburst Wedding Invitation

Reminiscent of our Monterey suite, this customization pairs letterpress printing and foil stamping absolutely beautifully on one single wedding invitation! The shimmering starburst design is printed on our thick, 236# letterpress Savoy stock in brilliant white with petal pink and powder blue letterpress ink along with reflective gold foil. Such a stunning balance of color and shine!

The invitation included a frame detail around the edge of the card, surrounding traditional invitation wording in the gold foil. The stand-out monogram {sent to us by exclusive retailer URBANcoast} is framed by the intricate starburst. Looking closely, you will see that traditional etiquette was at play here – the couple utilized a two letter duogram on their invitation and reserved their married monogram {using their first initials and new, shared last name} on the back of their note card. What a great idea!

In addition to defining every gorgeous detail on the printed cards, this couple also embellished their wedding invitation suite perfectly with a gold gilded edge on the cards and a pop of color with a shimmering aquamarine envelope liner.

Let us help you define every detail {big + small} on your custom wedding invitations! Remember, you have our entire design library at your fingertips. Choosing from these elements, you can create your own design – have fun! And, create the wedding invitation suite, sure to woo all of your wedding guests.

Client Customization – Letterpress + Calligraphy

We’re sharing this custom design with you today to remind you of how well letterpress printing pairs with hand calligraphy. Not only do they both shout “wedding,” but when you work with us or one of our retailers and use the design process outlined in our Custom Wedding Portfolio II, we can turn hand calligraphy into a letterpress plate and print it on your wedding invitation suite!

If you plan to use a calligrapher for addressing your invitations, why not also have them write your names for your wedding invitation? It’s like creating a custom font! Take a peek at how this couple incorporated calligraphy into their design.

Get The Look – Pantone 2016 Color of the Year

GTL-Pantone-1GTL-Pantone-2GTL-Pantone-3We wait patiently each December for Pantone’s Color of the Year announcement. Were you as thrilled as we were to see two (!) colors chosen for 2016? We love that Pantone changed the game a little this year. Their choice of two colors fed our love of choosing color palettes. When designing wedding invitations, one of our favorite steps is finding the perfect color combination and Pantone has done exactly that with their choice of Rose Quartz and Serenity.

We were inspired to use these two colors on an invitation, of course! We chose our Calistoga wedding invitation suite and transformed it into a look that creates a calming and beautiful overall feel with a balance of warm and cool tones. What better expression of a marital union – balanced, calm, beautiful?

In the two versions above, we are showing two ways to create this look. We have our existing color palette of letterpress inks and we also offer custom ink colors. There is a little bit of an up-charge for custom ink colors, so you can choose the best option for your budget. For the version using our existing color palette, we are suggesting a combination of our Rose and French Blue letterpress inks. The copy is split evenly between these two colors and then we added a splash of the Rose on the geometric pattern covering the back of the invitation and framed it all in a French Blue painted edge! For the custom version, we’re suggesting pastel PMS 9281 for Rose and PMS 7451 for Serenity.

Are you thinking of using the Pantone Color of the Year for the Wedding of the Year (yours!)? If you would like to see us transform your favorite design with this color palette, contact us or one of our retailers to start the design process.
