Get The Look – Floral Beauty

Our entire team can get pretty excited about a unique color palette! Today’s Get the Look post is all about bold color and romance – a perfect combination for a wedding invitation! We’re taken by the shades of purple and lavender paired with deep fuchsia pink in this fashion image. The balance of softness and bold color was something we would love to duplicate on paper.

To begin, our design team envisioned the wedding invitation wording printed in our cool metal grey letterpress ink on a thick luxe board card in a shimmery white micah. With a bright fuchsia painted edge to rival the lipstick shade on the model and bold foil stamping in our majestic purple to match the bright florals, this combination of elements really highlights this romantic color palette.

A.M. Inspiration {chinoiserie and metallics}

4.24-AM-INSPIRATION

We all have our favorite creative times during the day, and for me, it’s early in the morning while most of the world – well, mostly my children – remain quiet. With our “A.M. Inspiration” series, I post images of what currently has me inspired, the exciting new ideas I am dreaming up on my quiet mornings and share my thoughts on how to translate each piece of inspiration into stationery design and wedding invitations.

It was in college, while studying art and design, that I fell in love with chinoiserie. The Chinese-inspired prints have an ethereal feel that heightened my appreciation for this pattern.

This contemporary image, with the brushed metallic silver background that combines so beautifully with the watercolor-like-feel of the intricate and fanciful botanical imagery, is quite an inspiration. The winding tree branches painted in an unexpected robin’s egg blue color adds to the overall whimsical quality of the print.

To translate these exquisite details into a stationery suite, I would simply suggest shimmering foil stamping paired with a soft letterpress color palette on a metallic neutral card stock. Some of our most popular designs were inspired by items and elements that aren’t traditionally associated with weddings. A chinoiserie-inspired wedding invitation is officially on my design to-do list!

Working with our exclusive retailer The Village Invites, the final wedding invitation design featured an elegant script in gold foil stamping on a soft white card. The oversized invitation is simplicity at its finest, putting the shimmering gold foil script in the spotlight.

Get the Look – Inspired Color Palette for Custom Wedding Invitations

Most of us are longing for a little warmth and sunshine this time of year, so it’s clear why we were inspired by this Vogue photo shoot featuring Taylor Swift. The color palette, celebrating the versatility of cool mint along with the warmth of rich golds and browns, has our design team pulling their favorite swatches and playing with samples. As a result, we found the perfect recipe for pairing this color palette with your custom wedding stationery.

Our designers are dreaming up a suite that incorporates a deep espresso brown letterpress ink printed on a thick duplexed card of a light brown “crepe” color. Then, with the fresh effect of the sea glass painted edges finishing the card and a golden “spun sugar” envelope liner, this palette would compliment any design and woo all of your guests!

If you also love to play with swatches and samples, we encourage you to visit any of our exclusive retailers to work with your very own Dauphine Press design consultant. Our Custom Wedding Portfolio II includes all of the available design elements and our retailers are pros at helping you define your big day with stationery!
