You may be able to guess from the geographical names of many of our Custom Wedding Portfolio II wedding invitation suites that all of us at Dauphine Press are fans of the Napa Valley Wine Country. We’re excited to share Rachel and Mike’s Napa Valley destination wedding with you today! Every detail and element they put together for their wedding day resulted in pure perfection! Take a look for yourself!
Rachel and Mike worked with our exclusive retailer The Stationery Station and selected our Volusia letterpress wedding invitation suite for their wedding day. The unexpected horizontal card shape printed with a mix of a boldface type along with touches of a classic script font, this design effortlessly exudes casual elegance – perfect for a destination wedding in Napa Valley. The couple chose to add a personal touch with a wine glass motif on each piece and a bright color palette of coral and grey.
Imagine the surprise and delight of their guests when their color palette and destination theme all came together on their wedding day! With the vibrant summery colors sprinkled throughout and the wine country details, this was surely a day to remember!

Our entire team can get pretty excited about a unique color palette! Today’s Get the Look post is all about bold color and romance – a perfect combination for a wedding invitation! We’re taken by the shades of purple and lavender paired with deep fuchsia pink in this fashion image. The balance of softness and bold color was something we would love to duplicate on paper.
To begin, our design team envisioned the wedding invitation wording printed in our cool metal grey letterpress ink on a thick luxe board card in a shimmery white micah. With a bright fuchsia painted edge to rival the lipstick shade on the model and bold foil stamping in our majestic purple to match the bright florals, this combination of elements really highlights this romantic color palette.
If you’ve chosen a unique color palette for your wedding and wedding stationery, visit one of our retailers to translate your palette into paper! In our regular Get the Look series from the Dauphine Press design department, we share some of our favorite hot new style finds and make suggestions for how you can translate the same look into your wedding stationery using the many custom elements available to you in our design library. Keep in mind that ALL of our stationery suites receive a designer’s touch and every one of our designs is customizable. We all have our favorite creative times during the day, and for me, it’s early in the morning while most of the world – well, mostly my children – remain quiet. With our “A.M. Inspiration” series, I post images of what currently has me inspired, the exciting new ideas I am dreaming up on my quiet mornings and share my thoughts on how to translate each piece of inspiration into stationery design and wedding invitations.
It was in college, while studying art and design, that I fell in love with chinoiserie. The Chinese-inspired prints have an ethereal feel that heightened my appreciation for this pattern.
This contemporary image, with the brushed metallic silver background that combines so beautifully with the watercolor-like-feel of the intricate and fanciful botanical imagery, is quite an inspiration. The winding tree branches painted in an unexpected robin’s egg blue color adds to the overall whimsical quality of the print.
To translate these exquisite details into a stationery suite, I would simply suggest shimmering foil stamping paired with a soft letterpress color palette on a metallic neutral card stock. Some of our most popular designs were inspired by items and elements that aren’t traditionally associated with weddings. A chinoiserie-inspired wedding invitation is officially on my design to-do list!
Today’s Real Dauphine Press Wedding is an example of how powerful an evergreen stationery design can be. This couple paired charming, traditional details alongside a modern aesthetic on their wedding day, which resulted in a classic affair! Captured by Brea McDonald Photography, this coastal New England wedding is elegant and timeless!
Working with our exclusive retailer The Village Invites, the final wedding invitation design featured an elegant script in gold foil stamping on a soft white card. The oversized invitation is simplicity at its finest, putting the shimmering gold foil script in the spotlight.
