Get the Look – Grey + Blush Inspiration for Wedding Invitations

This image from Canada’s FASHION Magazine has us falling in love with a grey and blush color palette all over again! The “classic meets feminine” combination is one we always love to play with {evidence here and here} but this time around our design team is sticking to just these two hues and we’re skipping the white altogether! That’s rare for a wedding invitation, we know, but we love the impact these color saturated design elements have on their own.

We almost always start with paper and ink when picking design elements. In this case we selected a subltely shimmery coral paper stock {duplexed into a thick card stock, of course} with our cool metal grey letterpress ink printed on it. Next comes another layer of metal, but this time in the form of edge painting. Then, we would wrap it all up in a luxe bisque double-faced satin ribbon.

The next step is the easy part – which of our designs would you love to see created with the combination of design elements? Your local Dauphine Press exclusive retailer can help you select your favorite elements and pair them with your favorite wedding invitation design. We can’t wait to see what you choose!

In our regular Get the Look series from the Dauphine Press design department, we share some of our favorite hot new style finds and make suggestions for how you can translate the same look into your wedding stationery using the many custom elements available to you in our design library. Keep in mind that ALL of our stationery suites receive a designer’s touch and every one of our designs is customizable. Pairing the color palette and embellishments above with any of our motifs or fonts allows us to create a stationery suite that is unique to you!

Get the Look – Marsala and Mixed Metallics

With Pantone’s recent announcement of Color of the Year for 2015, we thought one of our Get the Look posts would give our design team an opportunity to express their admiration for marsala! The details below explore our current favorite way to incorporate this strong color into you wedding stationery.

Rich color and elegant foil are the standout elements in this Gucci ad. Imagine your wedding invitation printed in our deep rouge ink on an ecru micah duplexed paper stock. The highlight of the suite are the mixed metallics with the gold edge painting on the thick shimmering card. Embellished with a luxurious bordeaux double-faced satin, this suite has the power to make a bold, strong statement.

Real Dauphine Press Wedding – Jennifer + Brandon

Today’s bride, Jennifer, said it best herself:

“It is so wonderful to see all the details come together and look more outstanding than I could have ever imagined.”

It’s that moment that every bride longs for. In the name of love, every minute of planning comes together on your big day. We’re thrilled to be sharing those details from Jennifer’s wedding to Brandon today.

Real Dauphine Press Weddings - Jennifer + Brandon

Jennifer and Brandon teamed up with Stacy McCain Event Planning to create an enduring affair for their guests. From the venue, to the florals, the brides accessories and the paper details, every element fell perfectly into place with effortless beauty.

Working with Dauphine Press exclusive retailer Union Street Papery, the couple chose our Ivy suite as inspiration for their wedding stationery. Personalizing the letterpress invitation with a natural color palette of spring green and espresso brown gave their guests a glimpse into the gorgeous outdoor affair in store. The couple also chose a deep brown backer card to frame the invitation and carry out the look. With a touch of tradition, they customized the design to include a layout with all of the text centered on the card, over the whimsical offset layout of the original design.

With classic place cards directing guests to their seats where they found the 2-color letterpress menus tucked into the perfectly coordinating napkin and the invitation design duplicated on the wedding cake {we LOVE that touch!!!} this fabulous fete is one of our favorite real Dauphine Press weddings!

Get the Look – Natural Details For Letterpress Stationery

There is something about this photograph of Joseph Gordon-Levitt for Details magazine that really has us inspired. We love the wonderfully natural color palette, the layers of texture and the slick car. It’s the perfect inspiration for our gentleman’s edition of our Get the Look series.

The palette we’re dreaming up would include espresso letterpress ink printed on a thick duplexed card of London fog gray. For the embellishments, we love the addition of a gold painted edge and smart indigo envelope liner. Apply this recipe to any of our existing designs to create a dashing design for any event.
