A.M. Inspiration {brights and books}

Translating a client’s dreams and ideas into print is one of my favorite things to do. It’s such a rewarding process! It’s no different designing for an engaged couple, a baby announcement or a birthday invitation … even when it’s for my very own daughter. Meryn has always been a big fan of books, so when we were coming up with ideas for her birthday party, we decided to have it at Storybook Land. Storybook Land is an incredible amusement park for little ones with themes throughout the park that are relative to classic storybook fables. I still love it today as much as I did when I was little!

With the party destination set, I turned to Meryn for her thoughts on color palette. It was no surprise that she selected bright, neon colors. We decided to combine the bright, neon palette with a fun liner pattern {reminiscent of art created by a child} and a ditsy floral. We designed the main birthday invitation to resemble a classic storybook cover, complete with fun, childlike fonts {called Bookeyed Suzanne and Bookeyed Jack!}. To complete this sweet set, we designed a bookmark favor printed in three colors on both sides.

We would love to help the next time you’re designing an invitation for one of your loved ones or as you celebrate your love! Contact us or visit your local retailer to start the process of turning your dreams and ideas into print!

Client Customization – Floral Letterpress Save the Date Card

Decorative floral patterns and motifs are always a traditional choice for wedding stationery. Today’s Client Customization takes detailed peony and hydrangea motifs {two quintessential wedding flowers!} and pairs them with other classic touches in a unique format to create a custom save the date.

The letterpress printed floral motifs framing each panel of this trifold save the date card in a soft neutral fall into the background behind the classic black letterpress text. A combination of a script font and an all caps serif complete the look highlighting essential wedding guest details – travel directions, accommodation suggestions and the vital wedding weekend timeline.

This combination of design elements would complement any wedding decor. With small changes such as the color of the florals, the motifs chosen or the size and format of the card, you could easily create your own custom design to suit your unique event. With our Custom Wedding Portfolio II and the assistance of one of our exclusive retailers, you can create a one-of-a-kind wedding stationery suite for you and your event!

Client Customization – Updated Classic Letterpress Wedding Invitation

We have a special place in our hearts for a tasteful update on a true classic. Today’s client customization was created from scratch for this couple. Starting with their favorite double-thick 236# cotton letterpress stock then printing a classic layout with a monogram at the top, followed by a mix of a serif and a traditional script typeface in bold black ink. There’s nothing like the look of deep black letterpress on a fresh white stock – this combination really lets that deep letterpress impression shine!

Two final touches that we absolutely adore are the subtle shell painted edges and the black twine binding all of the cards in this suite together to create a true gift for guests when they open their mail.

What is your version of an update on a true classic? Or, would you rather skip the traditional elements altogether and go with something trendy? No matter your style, our Custom Wedding Portfolio II gives you all the tools you need to create the wedding invitation of your dreams – whether you decide to create it from scratch, using the wedding album as inspiration or team up with one of our exclusive retailers to get their expert advice!

Client Customization – Magical Wedding Rehearsal Invitation

We love the concept and overall feel the combination of design elements evokes on this invitation. What better way to have guests anticipating a “magical night under the stars” than with gold foil stamped stars, a blind letterpress impression of a tropical palm tree, gold edge painting and a fanciful script!

This invitation is a perfect example of a couple making the most of every piece of stationery in their wedding suite. If your heart is set on a traditional wedding invitation, but you’re feeling the pull to do something unique, why not have fun with your rehearsal dinner or Sunday brunch invitation? We’re here to help you define every piece of stationery for your wedding. Visit your local stationer and Dauphine Press retailer to get their expert advice on finding your design style!
