Suite Spotlight – Greenwich Letterpress Wedding Invitation

Spring is the perfect time for change and new growth! We’re excited to reveal the first of four new invitations added to our Custom Wedding Portfolio II. These new wedding invitation suites include designs that range from traditional and vintage to modern and whimsical! We have also added to our custom elements {90 new motifs, 20 new monograms and 63 new patterns} to give you more to play with when you’re creating your very own wedding stationery.

Our first new wedding invitation suite, Greenwich, celebrates the best of letterpress printing by pairing elements that showcase the letterpress impression with thick and thin lines. Details like the script and headline typefaces as well as the delicate, winding frame and surrounding lush pattern, make this suite perfect for a couple set on designing every detail of their wedding day. The tonal color palette of lavender and caramel letterpress inks lends to the overall romantic feel of this sweet design.

All of our new designs are reaching our retailers this week. If you would like to see them in person {and get a sneak preview before we spotlight the rest of them here on the blog!}, visit your local Dauphine Press exclusive retailer. Our custom design process allows you to select your favorite design elements and create a personalized design for no additional design fees! Happy planning!

Spring Wishes from Dauphine Press

With sunnier days and warmer weather upon us, we are happily celebrating the Spring season here at Dauphine Press. This letterpress printed invitation exhibits the sweetest spring motifs, patterns and colors! We worked with our exclusive retailer For Heaven’s Sake in Beaumont, TX to design this adorable party invitation. The owner, Gina, wanted to create this gem for her very own annual gathering of family and friends {you can view the invite we printed for this event last year on our Instagram account!}.

Gina knew exactly what she wanted for the layout, fonts and color palette and asked our design team to suggest our favorite patterns for the decorative eggs. We offered a grouping from our collection of custom patterns that represented a balance of graphic and floral-inspired motifs. Above all, we chose patterns that beautifully displayed the letterpress printing. The beauty of a letterpress printed pattern on one of our cotton papers is that it can really show off the art and impression of letterpress printing.

We hope you are enjoying the Spring season with your family and friends!

A.M. Inspiration {pattern and color}

We all have our favorite creative times during the day, and for me, it’s early in the morning while most of the world – well, mostly my children – remain quiet. With our new “A.M. Inspiration” series, I will be posting images of what currently has me inspired, the exciting new ideas I am dreaming up on those quiet mornings and I’ll share my thoughts on how to translate that inspiration into stationery design and wedding invitations.

We are kicking off the series with a very special wedding invitation suite. This is a sneak preview of one of our new Dauphine Press design samples! We will reveal the full suite in a future post, but I first wanted to share two of my favorite details of this romantic and elegant design – pattern and color.

One of my main sources of inspiration is pattern and home fashion/decor (probably a result from my formative creative years at Martha Stewart Living). Using pattern in my designs has always been a trademark of mine. I also love creating borders and motifs out of vintage drawings/etchings. I typically pull them apart and put them back together to create a new design. At the same time, I try to build the perfect balance of color when layering patterns and borders like you see here with the lavender damask pattern and vintage caramel frame on this new invitation sample.

Speaking of color, this lavender and caramel letterpress combination is another perfect example of “traditional with a twist” that we talked about in a recent blog post. The “twist” in the creation of this color palette is the use of caramel for the most important verbiage on each piece. Overall it results in a soft, romantic feel with a warm neutral used in place of traditional black. The fresh look with the caramel against the lavender gives your guests a little peek into your attention to detail and will have them anticipating all of the other twists you have in store for them the day of the wedding!

Suite Spotlight – Lace Letterpress Invitation Suite

In wedding stationery design, we love when two unique elements collide to create something incredible. It’s a bit like a marriage, isn’t it?! Our Lacie letterpress invitation does exactly that with an elegant balance of vintage and modern design elements. The delicate, antique lace pattern curving across the top of each card in a bold, vivid, orchid letterpress ink creates a striking visual for your guests. We see this perfect balance again with the sleek and modern typeface letterpress printed in a warm charcoal gray ink on a soft natural white cotton stock. The subtle touch of the warm tones in the paper and ink help bridge the vintage and modern elements.

The inspiration board explores this beautiful balance and really shows off the orchid and pool color palette.

We would love to hear your story and what makes you unique as individuals and incredible as a couple. To see how it all translates onto your wedding stationery, visit your local Dauphine Press exclusive retailer.

Client Customization – Auburn Letterpress Party Invitation

Winner! This party invitation is a winner in more ways than one! What a fun color palette and Auburn-inspired design. Rebecca, the owner of our exclusive retailer Taylor Street Paper, has created many stunning designs over the years, but this one is one of our favorites. Such a fun design and layout, but the ink palette with the metal gray type over the lemon yellow background pattern takes first place!

You can use our Custom Wedding Portfolio designs as inspiration for any type of event. This race day invitation is the perfect example and retailers like Rebecca at Taylor Street Paper are the perfect example of how much creativity our retailers have. They’re always happy (and excited!) to help you create your very own custom party invitation design.
