Designer’s Desktop {Solage Letterpress Wedding Invitation}

In our Custom Wedding Portfolio II, we feature stand-out save the date cards at the start of the album. We are often asked what the corresponding invitation and response card would look like. Our Designer’s Desktop series is the perfect place to share these details with you!

One of those save the date cards is our Solage save the date, which incorporates a two-layer antique engraving frame and a space for your engagement photo. For the invitation, we use the same two-layer frame and instead of your engagement photo taking center stage, we replace it with your invitation wording. We kept the horizontal layout, which allows for the couples’ names to fall on the same line. The response card follows suit with a similar layout, but with a small shift in the frame detail to keep things interesting.

We love the way the vintage feel of the frame pairs with the traditional wedding invitation fonts and layout within it. The delicate balance not only makes a statement to your guests, but it also beautifully showcases the letterpress printing.

Client Customization – Custom Pastel Save The Date

This sweet design is another one that we couldn’t wait to share. We love the unexpected color palette of our pale green honeydew foil on the shimmering aquamarine card stock. The aquamarine card stock has been duplexed to give it extra weight and presence.  What a decadent choice for this intricate design. Foil was the perfect choice for the layers of framing with the glimmering tiny details that frame this save the date card.

Designer’s Desktop {Save the Date Photo Card}

Our design team is always creating new variations of the designs displayed in our wedding album. We wanted to share some of our favorite versions that we have created over the years with the hopes that they will inspire you when designing your wedding stationery!

Two of our most popular Save the Date designs are the Marinwood and Auburn styles. The custom design below, combines these two cards into one, brand new design. Using the trifold format from Marinwood, this design blends a front panel announcing the big day, a middle panel featuring a charming engagement photo and a third panel displaying essential details for guests. Inspired by the vintage letterpress wood type look of our Auburn suite, this save the date makes a statement with bold photography in a soothing subtle color palette.

Client Customization – Vintage Nantucket Save The Date

One of our favorite retailers, Parchment Fine Papers in Nantucket, is always bringing us the most elegant wedding invitations. This classic design is one that we’re excited to share with you. We love location-specific designs and as we’ve talked about before, if you are getting married in a location as beautiful as Nantucket, why not let that guide your invitation design?

Dauphine Press Client Customization

Our journal format allows you to share multiple pages of wedding details {schedule of events, timelines, travel information} and also make a statement with the design of the front cover. With a journal design, we recommend that you keep the details simple on the cover and use the space to express yourself visually.

With this save the date design, a vintage map of Nantucket is printed in a subtle neutral with the wedding date and names of the couple taking center stage. This leaves room for extra design elements – a nautical feeling striped border and flag announcing the wedding date.

Have you selected your wedding location? Let us help you make the most of it with a custom design. Begin the process by contacting us or one of our exclusive retailers.

Client Customization – Foil Stamped Timeline Save the Date

Most of us mark our lives with milestone moments and your wedding day is usually a pretty big point on your life and relationship timeline. Today’s Client Customization illustrates key moments on this couple’s timeline. Using vintage motifs printed in gold foil, this custom timeline tells a story and ultimately invites close friends and family to quite a celebration – 50 years of marriage! And yes, the gold foil was a must for this Golden Anniversary save the date!

We love to think of visual ways to tell a story. A timeline like this, or a special floral or pattern are all things we can incorporate into your wedding stationery design. This save the date was designed with the visual timeline save the date, telling the story of this sweet couple. And, the invitation, featuring a traditional feel, features a balance of script and all-caps serif font. The finishing detail is the gold edge painting to highlight the luxuriously thick card.

We can’t wait to hear the details that define your story. Contact us or visit one of our exclusive retailers to start the design of your wedding stationery.
