Savannah Photo Shoot

We have another gorgeous photo shoot for you today. This time we worked with Austin Warnock Photography and a group of amazing vendors they selected. You can see the original post on Style Me Pretty and many more of the stunning images on the Austin Warnock Photography blog.

Savannah Style Shoot

For this shoot, our contribution was a perfectly delicate suite incorporating a beautiful lace pattern in a blind hit, a timeless script and a soft color palette. Here are even more shots of the stationery:

This suite is the perfect fit for this southern wedding, but don’t forget that it can be customized for any event. Would you love to see it in a square shape? With stunning turquoise ribbon corners and backer card? Or maybe a botanical print in the corners in place of the lace? All of that is possible, just visit one our exclusive retailers to customize your own Dauphine Press suite.

Meet Our New Foil + Letterpress Wedding Invitation Suite – Fairfield

Today’s new invitation suite, Fairfield, has me sitting up straighter and speaking with a soft voice. This suite is so refined and sophisticated that it whisks me away from my desk right to this perfectly romantic inspiration board and extraordinary event.

Our team pulled together a few of our favorite new custom design elements to create this romantic suite — from the lattice pattern in Mist foil to the Luxe Board duplexed stock in London Fog featuring our new Caramel opaque ink in a traditional calligraphic typeface and finished with gold edge painting. It doesn’t get much more regal and bridal than this!

We have really been enjoying the flexability of our new custom design elements. With the opaque inks and colored foil to match any palette and our new colored papers {more to come on our new colored foil and colored papers very soon!} we feel we could create just about anything you dream up!

Style Shoot – Behind the Scenes

As promised, today we are sharing some of the details that went into the style shoot for our Carneros and Auburn suites.

First, let’s skip to the end result since that’s what this is all about! Have you seen the amazing shots on our new website? Here are a few more:

Dauphine Press Carneros Letterpress Collection

To start the process we scouted the best of the best in stylists and photographers to help us with this exciting project.

Art directed by our very own Katrina McHugh, we selected Megan and Emily of Enjoy Events Co. to help us with styling, Nicole Hill Gerulat for the photography and brought in Georgia Deaver for calligraphy.

Our planning started with Megan and Emily of Enjoy Events Co. Katrina shared our chosen letterpress wedding suites and our vision and inspiration in designing them. Then we elaborated on the type of events these designs would be inviting guests to. After passing thoughts back-and-forth with Enjoy Events Co. they produced their own inspiration boards for the props and shortly after that began shopping for the perfect details.

Now is a great time to bring up the stunning pieces they sourced from One True Love Vintage Rentals. Enjoy Events Co. has worked with Amanda at One True Love Vintage Rentals on a few projects including planning and styling her own wedding this past September. I think everyone agrees that she provided the perfect furniture for the day that really set the tone of each vignette.

Talking to Megan and Emily after seeing the final results of all our hard work on our new website, they were so sweet in saying: “We loved collaborating with everyone the day of the shoot. To see all of the wonderful props we gathered come to life with the invitations was such a joy! We loved how each invitation had a theme to style around and in the end we couldn’t have been happier with how everything tied together in the final photos.”

In addition to showing the final suites in their respective vignettes, we also wanted to create a physical inspiration board for our Auburn suite. The same Auburn suite used in the casual rustic style shoot above, but this time we had a different type of event in mind. You will see that this Auburn inspiration board reflects an event with a more romantic, traditional feel bringing in golds, a soft palette and vintage touches.

This board reflects what we envisioned a couple planning this wedding might have created when pulling all of their design elements and stationery together. At Dauphine Press, our goal is to not only provide the best artisan printing, but to also allow every engaged couple to create a stationery design that is unique to them and their event. With this visual we wanted to encourage all couples working with us to truly use our Design Library to create a one-of-a-kind stationery suite for their unique event.

Now, to get this shot, Nicole and her assistant Mallory had to get really creative. Not only are they amazing at their profession and able to produce gorgeous results, but they will go above and beyond in a heartbeat to get the shot. In addition to saying a few things that made us blush, Nicole had a favorite part of the day to share with us: “The Dauphine Press shoot was a dream shoot because the stationery, styling and lighting made the whole place beautiful to work in. We are all so inspired seeing it come together. My favorite part was the inspiration board. So perfectly styled – and I was at least 15 feet in the air shooting it!”

Customize Your Suite with Varnish Ink

After falling in love with blind hits (designs impressed into the paper using no ink), we got to thinking that a light tonal effect might give a bit more pop to our letterpress printed art while maintaining that soft and elegant look that our brides often look for.

While developing our Vizcaya invitation design, we decided to create something new—our Varnish ink, which offers a whisper of color and takes a tonal effect on any color paper. After its introduction in our Coral line last year we’ve seen bride’s using it in many of our other invitation designs with stunning results.

Very versatile Varnish works great for large, bold designs, but can add just enough detail to images that might be too delicate for a blind hit. We love watching new pieces come off the presses using this technique. Keep them coming!
