Our design team is always keeping their eyes out for new inspiration and trends. As you know, we often blog about our inspiration, but today we’re starting something new {drum roll please} – “Trend Alerts.” With this latest post, we plan to share fresh, emerging trends that we look forward to translating into stationery design!
The first trend our team has their eyes on is the timeless metallic, rose gold. Rose gold is a soft, neutral metallic, which can be paired with other metallics and/or just about any other color. It is sweet and romantic, making it perfect for spring and summer weddings.

Here, in Northern California, spring has arrived in full force. The days are longer, the sun is warmer and everything is blooming. It’s the perfect time to share our Chalk Hill wedding invitation suite and inspiration board with you. Chalk Hill was inspired by the pastoral landscapes of the wine country, which is displayed on paper in our wisteria and copper letterpress inks. The winding florals and calligraphic typography of this custom letterpress design make it the perfect choice for an event that is rustically romantic.

It would be beautiful in a mint green and classic neutral? {see our sea glass and taupe letterpress inks for the perfect shades!} Or give it a preppy twist with our peach and cerulean letterpress inks. The options are endless with this beyond-pretty botanical. Visit one of our exclusive retailers to start customizing your own Chalk Hill suite today. It’s clear that this time of year is a very inspiring time for all of us here at Dauphine Press {we just can’t stop talking about it – see proof here and here}. This piece of inspiration is perfect for the season and a great starting point for a custom wedding invitation suite. This gorgeous shoot from the pages of Vanity Fair features the beautiful Amanda Seyfried in an ethereal garden setting.
This stunning color palette {and overall look and feel} would translate well to a letterpress wedding invitation. Imagine the natural white 100% cotton paper letterpress printed with our wisteria ink and foil stamped with a touch of pearl. The look would be complete with a pop of fuchsia edge painting and a fresh, almost neutral, green {try Napa green!} envelope liner.

To reveal our process here, our blog posts are a collaboration of our design team and me (Kendra) — the designers gather all of the inspiration and gorgeous visuals and I get to talk (write) about it. It’s like everything we do, even the way orders are processed — Tracy and I get to talk to our retailers about the details and the designers make it happen. To get back to the point, I have the pleasure of opening blog post drafts that have already been infused with the visuals and then I get to write about them, sharing all of the details with you. Every single time, I think I let out an audible gasp and today’s post was no different. I love seeing the inspiration behind each of our designs, all in one place and alongside the full suite. I have a special place in my heart for each and every one of our designs and it amazing me how seeing the inspiration boards makes me fall in love with our designs even more!
Today’s Suite Spotlight, Cloverdale, really lets the couple’s special day shine by highlighting their wedding date and making it the centerpiece of their save the date card. As Dauphine Press graphic designer, Heather, mentioned in our recent Designer’s Pick post, the large format is unexpected for a save the date and makes a great impression to those who receive it in the mail. The wash of pool letterpress ink on the borders and charcoal vintage-meets-rustic fonts give it a slightly beachy vibe perfect for a spring or summer wedding. The intricate detail of the bold numerals and delicate pattern has a lovely and tactile feel when letterpress printed into our rich cotton papers. See for yourself!

And now for the gasp-worthy inspiration board:

We love the dreamy & vintage vibe of these shots and think it would be the perfect fit for a warm summer wedding.
