Suite Spotlight – Ainsley Diecut + Letterpress Wedding Invitation

September is the perfect time for a wedding! Well, any time of year is perfect for a wedding, but September is the perfect time for an Ainsley wedding! Our Ainsley design has the perfect formula for a late summer wedding – one where hints of fall are sprinkled throughout the details. As our design team’s inspiration board displays, the salmon and tobacco palette speak a little to both seasons! Salmon has the ability to go light and bright {which is essential for those hot summer days} but is also beautiful when paired with a deeper shade that reminds us all of the approaching season.  And, tobacco is a great neutral to pair with any shade, any time of year. The mix creates an event with gorgeous depth!

Dauphine Press Ainsley Letterpress Wedding Invitation featuring detailed die cut edges

The focal point of our Ainsley design is the fun die-cut shape of each card, which makes this suite unique from the others your guests may be getting in the mail. Paired with a vintage pattern and personalized monogram surrounded by a decorative frame, this suite is fitting for any celebration. The mix of fonts on our original design feel traditional with a touch of whimsy!

A selection from our Coral album, this design allows you the flexibility to swap out any of the fonts or mix up the color palette to suit your event, all while benefiting from the smaller price tag the Coral album provides.

Get the Look – Fresh Florals

In our regular Get the Look series from the Dauphine Press design department, we share some of our favorite hot new style finds and make suggestions for how you can translate the same look into your wedding stationery using the many custom elements available to you in our design library. Keep in mind that ALL of our stationery suites receive a designer’s touch and every one of our designs is customizable so pairing the color palette and embellishments below with any of our motifs or fonts allows us to create a stationery suite that is unique to you!

There is such a wonderful sense of drama to this photograph of actress Naomi Watts for Vogue Australia. The colors are rich and yet there is a softness to them that creates a harmonious palette. And, of course the bed of flowers has us thinking of hydrangea season and our ever-popular Hydrangea letterpress wedding invitation suite. Our designers thought that the layers and layers of gorgeous neutrals would put a modern twist on a classic beauty. Imagine a fresh white letterpress paper with our elegant hydrangea motif and traditional font printed in our lovely thistle ink, edged in our warm charcoal gray, then wrapped in a shimmery cameo pocket folder and finished with a deep mink-colored double-faced satin ribbon. The layers will unfold and reveal your wedding details just as  your guests’ anticipation of your big day builds!

Store Spotlight – Paper Plane Paperie

When we first met Emily at Paper Plane Paperie, everything immediately clicked — we instantly loved working with her! Because of her her strong eye for design and detail, she has an amazing way of working with our Custom Wedding Portfolio II tools and inspiration to produce some of the most amazing designs! In fact, only a few short weeks after she received the album, Emily was on her way to being one of our top stores. This means that we have had plenty of time, working on her amazing orders, to get to know her and today we wanted to share a little bit about Emily with you.

First, here’s a look at her gorgeous space where she meets with lucky couples in the Newport Beach, California area:

What inspired you to open Paper Plane Paperie?
I have always been a very creative person, and during my wedding planning process in 2009, I fell in love with the customization process when it came to the invitations.  I wanted to use my creative talents to inspire other brides to use paper as a way to get their guests excited for a wedding or big party.  There is no better way to set the tone for an event than through a beautiful invitation suite.

What did you do in your life before Paper Plane Paperie?
I was a visual merchandiser for Hudson Jeans where I created window displays for large department stores all over the country.

When did you first realize that you had a passion for paper?
During my 2009 wedding planning process I really began to gain an understanding for the letterpress process and how the technique is used to create stunning invitations by hand, one invite at a time.  Soon after, I began taking letterpress classes and was completely hooked!

What is the Paper Plane Paperie design aesthetic?
Our personal aesthetic is coastal chic.  Since my shop is in Newport Beach, CA, anytime I can get my hands on something nautical, I go for it.

What inspires you?
Interior design … patterns and color.  I always look for ways that these things can translate onto paper.

What trends are you noticing/loving in wedding stationery?
Calligraphy tied in with classic text as part of the suite adds a nice touch. I am also loving custom wax seals right now!

What are the hottest trends or must haves for weddings in your area?
Tying in at least a few DIY projects has been popular for a while now, but is a lot of fun because it really personalizes the event.  Also, the color grey has replaced black in most cases which gives things a softer, more modern feel. Also, I recently went to a wedding with a ice cream sandwich bar. I thought it was a genius idea for a hot summer night!

See what we mean? Emily is the perfect mix of designer, friend and wedding consultant! What couple doesn’t want to WOW their guests from the first glimpse of correspondence about their big day? Emily gets that and has an amazing portfolio of work as a result.

Here’s a perfect example — this suite, designed for a couple getting married in Chicago this summer {just last weekend actually! Congratulations Roxane and Denis!} incorporates many of the key elements Emily describes as being on trend. Let’s take a closer look …

We love this fun take on our Marinwood trifold and invitation suite, using elements such as the lattice pattern and frame surrounding the key details on the first panel {both inspired by interior design} paired with beautiful hand calligraphy and illustrations by Holly Hollon that adds the perfect personal touch.

The striking design on the invitation, which includes their signature lattice pattern in robin’s egg letterpress ink, a seaglass frame and charcoal invitation wording, sets the tone perfectly for their August wedding.  Rounding out the suite is a coordinating response set with more personal calligraphic touches and a fresh wedgewood blue envelope liner.

If you’re in the Newport Beach, CA area and looking to create your own custom letterpress wedding invitations, you must plan a visit to the studio! If you want to see more of what inspires Emily, you can visit her blog, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter pages.

In The Press – Stationery Trends Summer 2013

It’s been a great summer here at Dauphine Press! And yes, we’ve noticed that everyone has already started talking about “back to school” and end of summer plans. We’re wanting to stretch out the warm summer days so we are having fun recapping some of the great things that we have been part of this summer. One very special honor was being included in the Stationery Trends Summer 2013 issue in their Fresh Picks section. We loved seeing our Fairfield save the date and invitation suite featured in our favorite trade magazine.

The romantic lattice pattern in our mist foil truly makes this suite shine. The luxe board duplexed stock creates a beautiful canvas for the foil printed pattern and calligraphic typeface and our gold edge painting is the perfect accessory.

If Fairfield is also your idea of a fresh pick, contact your local Dauphine Press exclusive retailer to start customizing your own wedding stationery.

Suite Spotlight – Citron Letterpress Wedding Invitation

Our Citron invitation suite, featuring a vivid lemon branch, spritzed with stripes and a delicate filigree, is a refreshing choice for summery celebrations. This jaw dropping design is fun and cheerful and exhibits the ideal way to use three different letterpress inks the buttercup yellow and leaf green inks are used as fills behind the vintage botanical printed in espresso. The crowning detail is the mix of layered fonts three of them, to be exact, which are artfully placed on the invitation and accessory cards. But, the beauty of this suite doesn’t stop here! Beyond the invitation card and other letterpress printed cards, the ironwork-inspired envelope liner and bold yellow envelopes make this suite complete.
