Client Customization – Letterpress Baby Announcement

The vintage hot air balloon theme is so sweet for baby announcements and nurseries. This fun and uplifting symbol and the “anything-is-possible” vibe surrounding a new arrival is a perfect fit in our book. We had a ton of fun working with the auntie-to-be on this design that features a gender neutral color palette of celadon, pool and sunshine letterpress inks for the balloon details and on the playful stripe on the center panel (which later acted as a frame for a photo of the new arrival).

Our trifold design is perfect for baby announcements, engagement party invitations, wedding save the dates, anniversary parties … you name it! We would love to hear your ideas and turn them into a unique design for your next extraordinary event! Contact us to start the design process.

Client Customization – Letterpress Fashion Week Trifold Invitation

As some of you may have already seen, when we gave a sneak preview of this fun invitation on our Instagram account, we love that we were able to play a small part in this event! This fun letterpress trifold invitation incorporates some great design elements, all in one place!

Dauphine Press retailer Mrs. Post Stationery brought this project to us and we loved how they took our trifold format as a jumping off point and then incorporated elements from the event into the invitation design. What fun to work with such a stylish group. We knew it would have amazing results.

Memphis Fashion Week benefits the Emerging Memphis Designer Project and the Memphis Fashion Fund. The theme this year incorporated a natural color palette and patterns inspired by nature. The Copper and Ice Plant letterpress inks pair beautifully and help highlight the design elements. The wood pattern on the front cover mirrors their logo and the honeycomb elements are sprinkled throughout with a large hexagon shape framing the headline on the first panel and also used in a delicate manner on the last panel with a small scale honeycomb pattern. They used that last panel and placed a full-color fashion image over it so that the pattern framed the image. {Be sure to check out the @memphisfashionweek Instagram account for all of the non-stationery details including a must-see floral installation, also honeycomb inspired, in the VIP lounge created by @holidayflowersandevents!}.

Do you have a special event coming up for your work and need a fabulous invitation?! We would love to work with you, hear all of your ideas and create an amazing invitation design. Contact us or your local Dauphine Press retailer and tell us all about it!

Client Customization – Floral Letterpress Save the Date Card

Decorative floral patterns and motifs are always a traditional choice for wedding stationery. Today’s Client Customization takes detailed peony and hydrangea motifs {two quintessential wedding flowers!} and pairs them with other classic touches in a unique format to create a custom save the date.

The letterpress printed floral motifs framing each panel of this trifold save the date card in a soft neutral fall into the background behind the classic black letterpress text. A combination of a script font and an all caps serif complete the look highlighting essential wedding guest details – travel directions, accommodation suggestions and the vital wedding weekend timeline.

This combination of design elements would complement any wedding decor. With small changes such as the color of the florals, the motifs chosen or the size and format of the card, you could easily create your own custom design to suit your unique event. With our Custom Wedding Portfolio II and the assistance of one of our exclusive retailers, you can create a one-of-a-kind wedding stationery suite for you and your event!

Client Customization – Presidio Inspired Letterpress Save the Date Card

This charming save the date card is one of our favorite custom designs. The bride and groom went through every detail in our Custom Wedding Portfolio II and chose their favorite design elements, letterpress ink colors and format to create their very own version of our trifold save the date card.

Heavily inspired by our Presidio wedding invitation suite, incorporating multiple design elements as well as the letterpress ink color palette, the final design is one that will have guests thrilled to be invited to this destination wedding.  The custom teal, inviting sea glass green and golden saffron letterpress inks are perfectly layered to show off the destination map, handsome frames and graphic center panel that will ultimately display the couple’s engagement photo.

It doesn’t get any more personal than this! And the best part? All of this custom design is included with your order, at no additional cost, when you design your wedding invitation suite through one of our exclusive retailers.

Store Spotlight – Paper Plane Paperie

When we first met Emily at Paper Plane Paperie, everything immediately clicked — we instantly loved working with her! Because of her her strong eye for design and detail, she has an amazing way of working with our Custom Wedding Portfolio II tools and inspiration to produce some of the most amazing designs! In fact, only a few short weeks after she received the album, Emily was on her way to being one of our top stores. This means that we have had plenty of time, working on her amazing orders, to get to know her and today we wanted to share a little bit about Emily with you.

First, here’s a look at her gorgeous space where she meets with lucky couples in the Newport Beach, California area:

What inspired you to open Paper Plane Paperie?
I have always been a very creative person, and during my wedding planning process in 2009, I fell in love with the customization process when it came to the invitations.  I wanted to use my creative talents to inspire other brides to use paper as a way to get their guests excited for a wedding or big party.  There is no better way to set the tone for an event than through a beautiful invitation suite.

What did you do in your life before Paper Plane Paperie?
I was a visual merchandiser for Hudson Jeans where I created window displays for large department stores all over the country.

When did you first realize that you had a passion for paper?
During my 2009 wedding planning process I really began to gain an understanding for the letterpress process and how the technique is used to create stunning invitations by hand, one invite at a time.  Soon after, I began taking letterpress classes and was completely hooked!

What is the Paper Plane Paperie design aesthetic?
Our personal aesthetic is coastal chic.  Since my shop is in Newport Beach, CA, anytime I can get my hands on something nautical, I go for it.

What inspires you?
Interior design … patterns and color.  I always look for ways that these things can translate onto paper.

What trends are you noticing/loving in wedding stationery?
Calligraphy tied in with classic text as part of the suite adds a nice touch. I am also loving custom wax seals right now!

What are the hottest trends or must haves for weddings in your area?
Tying in at least a few DIY projects has been popular for a while now, but is a lot of fun because it really personalizes the event.  Also, the color grey has replaced black in most cases which gives things a softer, more modern feel. Also, I recently went to a wedding with a ice cream sandwich bar. I thought it was a genius idea for a hot summer night!

See what we mean? Emily is the perfect mix of designer, friend and wedding consultant! What couple doesn’t want to WOW their guests from the first glimpse of correspondence about their big day? Emily gets that and has an amazing portfolio of work as a result.

Here’s a perfect example — this suite, designed for a couple getting married in Chicago this summer {just last weekend actually! Congratulations Roxane and Denis!} incorporates many of the key elements Emily describes as being on trend. Let’s take a closer look …

We love this fun take on our Marinwood trifold and invitation suite, using elements such as the lattice pattern and frame surrounding the key details on the first panel {both inspired by interior design} paired with beautiful hand calligraphy and illustrations by Holly Hollon that adds the perfect personal touch.

The striking design on the invitation, which includes their signature lattice pattern in robin’s egg letterpress ink, a seaglass frame and charcoal invitation wording, sets the tone perfectly for their August wedding.  Rounding out the suite is a coordinating response set with more personal calligraphic touches and a fresh wedgewood blue envelope liner.

If you’re in the Newport Beach, CA area and looking to create your own custom letterpress wedding invitations, you must plan a visit to the studio! If you want to see more of what inspires Emily, you can visit her blog, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter pages.
