Citron Letterpress Invitation – New Design Customization

We have some exciting news for you, our stationery design and letterpress loving friends! Over the next few weeks we will be releasing a bundle of new design customizations on our website! We love that we get to create new designs every day and we are excited to share some of the latest with you!

The main reason that we are beyond thrilled to share these new customizations is because these designs really illustrate exactly how far you can take your own wedding invitation suite. Through these new designs we will share how a few changes, changes that make a design uniquely yours, allow you to present your guests with a wedding invitation to an event that they just can’t wait to attend. Yours!

There are so many options to consider and we know that sometimes too many options can be just that — too many options! With these new designs, we wanted to outline a short list of elements you may want to consider when personalizing your wedding wardrobe.

We collaborated with some of our {and your!} favorite wedding bloggers to debut their favorites from our new collection, so hopefully you have gotten a preview already! Our Citron customization was a favorite of the amazing duo over at Ritzy Bee Blog.

Dauphine Press Wedding Blog Post - CITRON

In our Custom Wedding Portfolio albums I and II, we have outlined the steps for transforming any design in our gallery into your custom suite. Here’s the list of elements from our design team that make our new Citron design customization unique. You can use any of these details to customize your very own suite.  Here are a few things to consider:

Custom-Elements-Banner

Paper Color: In the case of this Citron customization, the paper color was changed from our brilliant white letterpress stock to our natural white letterpress stock to warm up the overall look. Often couples choose their paper color based on the shade of the bride’s dress.

Ink Palette: Changing the ink palette on any design is one of the most notable ways to personalize your suite. Simply choose colors from our letterpress inks that match the palette you are using in the rest of your decor and you’re on your way to a suite that is uniquely yours. In the side-by-side visual above, you can see that we changed the espresso, leaf and buttercup combination in the original to apricot, celadon and charcoal to coordinate with the new orange motif and also soften the palette a little.

Motifs and Patterns: Here is where you can really start getting creative! You can see that with the Citron customization, swapping out the original lemon motif for the orange motif really changes the guests’ expectations for each event. To  keep what you love about any inspiration piece in-tact, it’s always a good idea to choose a similar motif, like the lemon and orange, and use it in a similar way to make sure that your new design has the same amount of impact!

Fonts: Fonts and typefaces are a very personal choice. We have a large selection to choose from, so you can really have fun with this element. We have fonts that range from casual to very formal. Script fonts are often used for more formal events. We hear from brides and grooms all of the time that they often choose a font based on whether or not they like the way their {new!} initials appear in a certain font. So be sure you check out the entire alphabet!

The best part about all of the elements outlined above is that they are all complimentary with our Custom Wedding Portfolio program. You can change any of the details above and you will not see any additional charges since we feel that these are elements that every couple will want to change so we made sure that doing so doesn’t impact your budget at all!

Embellishments-Banner

Beyond our custom elements,  you can also add on any number of embellishments. You can see all of the details available in our online Design Library or in-person when you visit one of our Exclusive Retailers. We chose just a couple to dress up our new Citron design:

Painted Edges: Painted edges were a fun detail we added to the new design customization. That extra touch of color allows you to extend your color palette to the edge of the card. We have shades to match all of our letterpress ink colors!

Paper Weight: We chose our double-thick letterpress stock for the new design, which really highlights the edge painting. With the thicker card there’s more surface area on the edge to showcase the added color.

We created our Custom Wedding Portfolio process with every unique couple in mind. We, ourselves, would expect to personalize our wedding invitation suite, so we wanted to create a process that allowed every bride and groom to do the same. It’s also designed to be fun! We encourage you to scour our website {don’t forget to check out our Search By Style feature} and meet with the experts at your local Dauphine Press retailer to get their guidance and input. Once you do, you’ll be well on your way to creating your very own custom letterpress wedding invitations!

Client Customization – Vintage Rose

It’s that time of year! We are starting to see lots of orders for save the date cards. We know how engaged couples feel when the holidays are quickly approaching and you’re anticipating the New Year just around the corner … more than likely, that New Year represents your year! We know what it’s like, while everyone else is thinking about pumpkin spice lattes and holiday ski trips, you’re thinking about next spring, preparing for a very special day!

Well, we’re right here with you and today we are sharing a beautiful save the date card featuring 3-color letterpress. Two of those ink colors are dedicated to our vintage rose motif. The bold size of the rose detail makes a beautiful statement in the soft petal pink and sage green. Classic fonts in black letterpress ink lend an overall elegant feel to this wedding stationery wardrobe.

There’s a perfectly subtle tiny touch on these cards we’re featuring today too. Did you catch it? With just a simple shift of the third ink color on the note cards, from traditional black to an earthy olive, the overall look of that one piece is slightly more casual. It’s in details like these that our exclusive retailers, like Judy Paulen Designs at Bloomingdale’s who sent us this customization, help couples perfect when creating a design using our Custom Wedding Portfolio. Suite Spotlight – Marinwood Letterpress Holiday Card

Just last month we released our 2013 Timeless Custom Holiday Collection of letterpress and foil stamped holiday cards. We wanted to take some time and share with you all that you can create using our Holiday Collection. The process works just like our Custom Wedding Portfolio where you can build any design to suit your style. You can use any of our existing designs {holiday or wedding!} or build a design from the ground up using all of the design elements offered in our design library.

The Marinwood Holiday trifold we are highlighting today is a great example of taking inspiration from our existing designs and adding personal touches to create a unique-to-you design. Using our Marinwood save the date trifold as inspiration, this holiday card and moving announcement takes on a completely new look. The jolly message on the first panel, in standout vintage lettering, is a welcomed greeting for friends and family during the holidays. The recipient is then treated to a sweet surprise when they unfold the card to reveal a gorgeous 2-color letterpress vintage pattern printed on the center panel. Just like the inspiration piece, when placing a family photo over the center, the detailed design acts as a decorative frame. The last panel is used for another timely greeting and a smartly placed moving announcement. Color palette is key to this design as well – the perfectly selected red raspberry and willow inks complete the festive look!

Creating a unique design with our Custom Wedding Portfolio can be a very fun process – one that always results in a gorgeous piece of stationery that is an extension of you! Teaming up with one of our exclusive retailers, like For Heaven’s Sake in Beaumont, Texas who helped create this gorgeous design, is the perfect place to start.

Another great part of the process is finding inspiration to help you define your favorite design elements, color palette and overall look and feel of your new card. Take a peek at our Pinterest boards for even more inspiration like the elements our design team pulled together for the perfect vintage holiday card, just like the Marinwood Holiday trifold.

This sophisticated letterpress wedding invitation suite was created for a modern wedding, featuring bold palm graphics and layers of geometric patterns. For the couple that values high design, this collection would be suitable for any extraordinary event in an endless number of color combinations and print techniques.
