We are very fortunate to have a team that brings creativity and spirit to their work and is invested in providing each client with a truly custom design. Through our regular Designer’s Pick posts, our designers will be choosing their favorite suites to share with you.A huge fan of wood type poster design, our Auburn suite has become one of my personal favorites. Combining casual and rustic elements, Auburn expresses a country-chic vibe with its use of vintage wood type-inspired fonts. The type treatment is so strong that it radiates a cheerful, fun-loving tone sans any specific motifs. The oversized ampersand acts as the focal point – the ideal visual element symbolizing the upcoming union. Another standout detail of this particular variation is the use of three letterpress ink colors. The intentional overlapping of inks (also know as “overprinting”) and the crosshatch background pattern give the card extra dimension. Auburn is the perfect design for a fun and artistic couple looking to add some color and history to their letterpress wedding invitations.

We have been anxiously awaiting the release of The Great Gatsby movie for some time now and we are thrilled that the date has finally arrived! We are looking forward to enjoying all of the visual goodness the movie promises to showcase. In the meantime, we found even more of the luxury of the 1920s displayed in a recent Vogue cover shoot. Playing Daisy Buchanan in the movie, Carey Mulligan is all about that vintage glamour feel in this fresh color palette from the shoot.
To capture the art deco feel, our team is envisioning our opaque, caramel letterpress ink paired with metallic copper foil on a thick duplexed card in the perfect neutral shade of cameo. With decorative accents like the ironwork-inspired pattern and a pop of raspberry double-faced satin ribbon, the look is complete!

Are you planning to see the movie this weekend? Well, once you have, and are inspired to create your 1920s-inspired stationery, any of our exclusive retailers would be more than happy to help you turn that inspiration into an incredible letterpress wedding invitation suite!
When you visit your local Dauphine Press retailer through the end of June, don’t forget to mention our Spring Promotion to take advantage of one of four offers available.
Here in Northern California it’s been a few weeks since we’ve seen any rain. In fact, there’s been just enough sunshine to start wearing open-toed shoes. We know there is more winter weather in store, but it doesn’t keep us from daydreaming about spring. Today’s inspiration board, highlighting our Kentfield suite, is not only a reflection of this gorgeous letterpress printed suite, but it’s also a reflection of what’s in our hearts knowing that spring and even more sunshine are just around the corner.
Our Kentfield design is perfect for the romantic couple. Whether your venue is outdoors like scenes from our inspiration board or in a dramatic ballroom, the floral design surrounding the text and frame adds a soft touch. Letterpress printed in our buttercream and metal inks, this combination gives the illusion that the French engraving cuts and timeless typography are sitting atop a bouquet of begonias. Each card incorporates the same design elements, but each in a unique way to add interest to this enduring design.

To reveal our process here, our blog posts are a collaboration of our design team and me (Kendra) — the designers gather all of the inspiration and gorgeous visuals and I get to talk (write) about it. It’s like everything we do, even the way orders are processed — Tracy and I get to talk to our retailers about the details and the designers make it happen. To get back to the point, I have the pleasure of opening blog post drafts that have already been infused with the visuals and then I get to write about them, sharing all of the details with you. Every single time, I think I let out an audible gasp and today’s post was no different. I love seeing the inspiration behind each of our designs, all in one place and alongside the full suite. I have a special place in my heart for each and every one of our designs and it amazing me how seeing the inspiration boards makes me fall in love with our designs even more!
Today’s Suite Spotlight, Cloverdale, really lets the couple’s special day shine by highlighting their wedding date and making it the centerpiece of their save the date card. As Dauphine Press graphic designer, Heather, mentioned in our recent Designer’s Pick post, the large format is unexpected for a save the date and makes a great impression to those who receive it in the mail. The wash of pool letterpress ink on the borders and charcoal vintage-meets-rustic fonts give it a slightly beachy vibe perfect for a spring or summer wedding. The intricate detail of the bold numerals and delicate pattern has a lovely and tactile feel when letterpress printed into our rich cotton papers. See for yourself!
And now for the gasp-worthy inspiration board:

Today’s real wedding comes from our own neck of the woods in Northern California. Photographed by Briana Marie Photography and planned by Suzy Berberian Weddings this event was a true stunner.
We are absolutely in love with the vintage sophistication of this celebration. The intricate motif, elegant fonts and rich color palette work well with the styling and decor of the event. Seeing all the details come together, we think the beautiful letterpress design is a perfect fit for Wine Country and this happy couple.
