The Beauty of Impression

Letterpress is a centuries-old printing method that uses pressure to press ink into soft cotton paper — creating a tactile, debossed finish that feels as good as it looks. It adds depth, weight, and authenticity to any piece. Every impression is a physical mark of quality, intention, and care — subtle to the eye, unforgettable to the touch.

What We Print

How It's Made

We use lovingly restored Heidelberg Windmill presses — precision machines that combine industrial heritage with flawless execution. Every sheet is hand-fed. Every run is calibrated by eye. Our inks are mixed by hand, and we often combine traditional letterpress with foil stamping, blind debossing, or die-cutting for fully custom results.

Why Letterpress?

Letterpress is slow by design. That’s its strength. It adds depth, weight, and story to even the simplest piece. When you want to create something worth keeping — not just reading — this is the process.

It's ideal for wedding invitations, brand storytelling, luxury gifting, or heritage-themed packaging. Every print is subtly different. It’s not about perfect replication — it’s about authentic character.

The Papers We Use

We print on cotton, bamboo, and textured stocks from some of the world’s finest mills. Heavyweight boards and soft, pillowy papers absorb the impression beautifully. We can duplex, edge-paint, emboss, or custom cut to your spec.

Prefer something offbeat? We’ll test your stock — or recommend one with just the right feel.

A Heritage Craft — Reimagined

Letterpress once powered newspapers and books — now it's a creative choice. What used to be purely functional has become an art form. At Dauphine Press, we honour the history while embracing modern design. We work with contemporary layouts, typography and materials — all enhanced by the timeless character of the press.

Sustainability

We use low-waste processes, biodegradable inks, and tree-free papers where possible. Our presses run on manual timing — not high-volume automation — meaning every print run is tightly controlled and waste is minimal.

Let’s Print Something Beautiful

If you're a designer, bride, artist or entrepreneur looking to create something with real texture and presence, letterpress may be the perfect fit. We’re happy to advise — whether you need a full suite or a one-off showpiece.
